Club Chairman, Stuart McNee was pleased to announce that the club has been awarded the prestigious FA Charter Standard. Stuart commented the club has always been very well run, having established development plans, good practises and many successful teams since the club first formed in 1988. This is a great acknowledgment to all the team managers, their assistants and committee members who have all had to attend FA coaching, First Aid and Child Protection courses, as well as being C.R.B. checked. Andy Basterfield, the clubs Sports Development Secretary has worked extremely hard over the past few months preparing the clubs application ensuring that all the required elements were in place. Andy explained that due to the size of the club, having 12 Junior boys teams, 2 Junior girls teams, 1 Ladies open age team, 2 Mens open age teams and 5 Junior basketball teams, the co-ordination and organising of training of coaches, club policies, procedures and Child Welfare Officers is not an easy undertaking to achieve. The clubs long standing Secretary (and founding member) John Mattimore, was very proud of the clubs achievement and felt the award reaffirmed the commonly held view that the club is a fun, safe and educational organisation for youngsters. John would also like to acknowledge the considerable hard work from previous Chairmans, Managers and Committee members who laid the foundations which contributed enormously to this achievement. |
