The Under Eighteens play in the Lancashire and Cheshire Football League. This is new age group in this league and an age that Hollingworth has never ventured into before. Last season saw us runners up in Tameside league and in League Cup. We would like to welcome Rob Clarke to our management team this season. Rob will focus on the players fitness and another change is our new venue at Hattersley Ken Ward Centre this has been sourced with the help of Andy Basterfield. Thank you.

We thought that last season would have been the last but fortunately enough players displayed and interest to continue and we wanted to remain playing on a Saturday, therefore we have now found this league albeit we have to play a year above. This has now given Hollingworth the opportunity to bring back some older boys who have had to play in the open age or other teams. We are all looking forward to a great and challenging season.

  Sponsorship urgently required

We urgently need to find a couple of sponsors to help us fund a new kit and tracksuit anyone who can help or suggest someone who may be interested please contact

Hollingworth 14 - 0 Chorltonians 8th September
First game of the season and only two friendlies since end of last season was again not the ideal. As this was a new league with teams we had not faced at under 16s before we were not sure of the talent we would face. As you can see from the score line it was not the most entertaining game. It was a great win with very little effort. Our players did not look challanged however they still maintained their positions and showed professionalism at all times during this game. Chorltonians are a new side and this was their first game together.

Hattersley 3- 2 Hollingworth Saturday 15th September
This game was a bit different to last week. the result was disappointing to us as we had beat Hattersley 6-0 a couple of weeks earlier in a friendly. Our players were just not upto the mark on the day and have the ability to beat this physical side. In fairness to Hattersley they did play well on the day but we also expect our players to perform much better in future fixtures.

Hollingworth 3- 2 Tintwistle Villa 22nd September
The local derby..... Derby's always bring an interesting match and there wasnt a player on the pitch that wasnt up for this game. It was a great game too watch with a total of five goals in all, it was physically challenging and a win for Hollingworth. Tintwistle had been coming to watch us for the last few weeks including our friendlies so maybe they were wanting to see how we performed in order to try and get the upper hand. In our opinion Hollingworth were the better side and Tintwistle only got the better of us for a fifteen minute spell at the beginning of the second half.

Chadderton 0 - 3 Hollingworth Saturday 29th September
We started off slowly and in the first half we were unsettle both on and off the pitch. Second half started off much better and we opened up the scoring with a goal from Phil Clarke in a one on one situation not long after the whistle. We then started to pass the ball around from both left to right which generated more opportunities. Second goal came from Tom Streets and finally the third was a Matt Tatters special volley from just past the half way line. We ended up with a good result despite receiving too many yellow cards.

Denton 3 - 2 Hollingworth Saturday 7th October
Hollingworth played very well but it was just one of those days when nothing would go in the net. It was very frustrating because we were playing a team we expected to get the win against but it just goes to show you should never expect anything.

Hollingworth 6 - 4 Beechfield Saturday 13th October
A good performance against a physical side and it got to boiling point on a few occasions. Hollingworth were comfortable winners overall. Goals scored by Smallwood (2), Streets (2), Barber (1) and Fitzpatrick (1). There was also a good turnout of fans to watch the game.

Hollingworth 5 - 1 Radcliffe Saturday 19th October
An enjoyable game of football with high possession and confidence was flowing throughout the game. Hollingworth controlled the game for 80% of the match and early patience paid off. Goalscorers Flanagan (2), Smallwood(1), Barber (1) and Fitzpatrick (1)

Hollingworth 5- 1 Old Standians Saturday 26th October
A good first half performance from Hollingworth with a four nil score line. 2nd half was slower and we should have bagged quite a few more goals. Some superb finishing came from goalscorers Smallwood (2), Flanagan (1), Pearson (2)
