Old Boys Victorious in Rhodes Cup Final.

Congratulations to Hollingworth Old Boys who recently got their hands on the prestigious Rhodes Cup for the very first time in their history.

The Cup which is competed for by all of the Lancashire & Cheshire Leagues’s 1 st Teams was won in a dramatic final @ Curzon Ashton on Thursday 1st May.

Hollingworth defeated an excellent Old Trafford side 4-3 afetr extra time, when the game looked certain to go to penalties.

Old Trafford who also came runners up in the Lancashire & Cheshire Premiership, played a massive part in the final, and were extremely sporting in defeat.

An outstanding attacking display from Rob Hartshaw, as well as 2 goals including the winner, earned him the Man of the Match award.

This was the Open Age’s first major honour for a number of seasons, and congratulations go to all the players and members of the Squad, who have given their time and hard work throughout the season.
