Sunday 28th January - Signol 1 V 4 Hollingworth
A great performance in very difficult conditions and a poor playing surface. Signol never really troubled the Hollingworth gaol and only had a couple of chances throughout the game. Hollingworth dominated from start to finish and should of really been 4 up at the break. The team played for each other and especially the strikers who held the ball well and made some tremendous breaks.

Sunday 4th February - Priory 0 V 7 Hollingworth
The score line slightly flatters Priory who did not have a single attempt on goal the whole game. Hollingworth on the other hand should of been well into double figures but for some wayward finishing. Complete domination from start to finish with some good team work and spirit during the game. This was possibly the best preparation before the next match against Sale United in the Cheshire Cup.

Sunday 11th February Cheshire up Semi Final - Sale United 0 V 4 Hollingworth

The score line does not really tell the whole story, Sale played some good football and did have plenty of possession for long periods of the game. However Sale found it difficult to cope with the power of the Hollingworth side and did take some knocks. The Hollingworth side gave 100% and could not of played any more professionally, they worked hard for each other and wanted the victory more than Sale.

Sunday 18th February Hollingworth 7 V 1 Glossop
Bragging rights certainly go to Hollingworth in this local derby but this is not the whole story. Glossop did try to play some good football but they did not have the strength to cope with a Hollingworth side that is flying high and going from strength to strength. Very strong performances from midfield and attack along with complete control in defence. Lets hope the lads can carry on performing this way for the remainder of the season.

Sunday 25th February Stockport Metro Cup -Hollingworth 4 V 0 Signol.

For the second time this season Hollingworth have managed to put 4 past Signol on a poor playing surface. Hollingworth had to much strength and Signol only had a couple of proper attempts on goal throughout the whole game. Hollingworth in the first half played some very good football and the communication on the field was excellent. Signol again in the league in a couple of weeks and lets hope for the same result.

Sunday 11th March Hollingworth 5 V 3 Signol
A difficult game to analyse as Hollingworth did not play particularly well but somehow managed to come away with an important league victory that keeps them in with a good chance at the end of the season.

Sunday 18th March Stockport Metro Cup Semi-final, Hollingworth 6 V 2 Juno

Very poor weather conditions with snow, sleet and blowing a gail but Hollingworth gave their all to come out victorious to reach their second cup final this season. Playing into the wind in the first half was a struggle but Hollingworth never gave up and despite being behind twice they still managed to end the half 3 - 2 in front. The second half was a little more one sided with the lads showing their class and strength to score a further 3 goals and finish 6-2 winners

Sunday 25th March, Cheshire County F.A, Junior Challenge Cup Final, Glenavon 1 V 2 Hollingworth

By no means the most spectacular game ever seen but probably the most important one played by this group of players so far. The final of the Cheshire Cup was played at Christleton FC near Chester between Glenavon from the Wallasey Junior League and Hollingworth of the Stockport Metro Junior League. Both Glenavon and Hollingworth played very nervously and it wasn't until later on in the first half when Hollingworth scored by Aiden Phillips. Unfortunately Glenavon equalised from the restart with a long ball that bounced over the stranded Hollingworth keeper and into the open goal. The second half was again a stop start affair with both teams unwilling to try and open the other defence up. With five minutes remaining the ball found its way through to Danny Mizen who chipped the on coming goal keeper and found the net. Overall the game was very tight with few attempts on goal but Hollingworth did show their ability to keep composed and fight for each other until the end. Well done lads for an outstanding achievement lets try and make it a treble.

Sunday 1st April, Juno 2 V 4 Hollingworth

It is hard it is hard to describe the first half performance but it was like 11 people who had never played football together. Juno took the lead with a dubious off side goal but the Hollingworth team didn't make an attempt to clear the ball. The second goal from Juno was well struck from well outside the penalty area but the midfield gave the player too much time to take the shot. Hollingworth did however manage to pull one back before half time. The second half was a different story as Hollingworth got their act together and showed their class and self belief to over power a shell shocked Juno who had no answer to the dominance of Hollingworth.

Glossop 1 V 5 Hollingworth

A very hard playing surface made it difficult for both teams to play but after going a goal behind Hollingworth took control to win the game.
A good team performance with all players working hard for each other.

Stockport Metro Cup Final, Great Moor 0 V 1 Hollingworth
A very tense final with both teams nervous of not conceding a goal and losing the game.
Hollingworth eventually did manage to score after missing a hand full of chances. The second half gave Great Moor the edge to probe the Hollingworth defence but the team held firm. Hollingworth should of wrapped the game up with a late penalty but it wasn't to be.
Hollingworth won by the 1 goal to lift the cup for the second successive year and their second cup of the season.

Apollo 0 V 2 Hollingworth
Always a pleasure to play this well organised team who play in the right manner. Hollingworth did win by 2 goals but it was very close with either teams capable of winning the game.

Great Moor 1 V 3 Hollingworth

Great Moor was out for revenge after the weekends cup defeat to Hollingworth. A physical game but the skill and power of Hollingworth overcame the strong Great Moor side.

Hazel Grove 1 V 4 Hollingworth
Almost the title decider withboth teams on similar points but Hollingworth having a couple of games in hand.
To be fair only one team turned up on the day and Hazel Grove did not play to their potential. Hollingworth scored all goals in the first half and cruised to a memorable victory.

Hollingworth 2 V 2 Juno
The usual difficult game against a well organised Juno team. Hollingworth could not quite raise their game with the league already theirs but did try to play some good football.

Hollingworth 2 V 0 Hillgate
Hillgate awarded all points to Hollingworth
