Sunday 29th January
HJFC v Haughton Rangers - Friendly

A Team Won 2-0:
Our first game of the New Year saw the A team score two blistering goals in a game packed with lots of action. Hollingworth had most of the game, with only the Rangers goalkeeper saving them from a bigger defeat. Sam Whiteman scored both goals.

B Team Lost 2-1: A changed B team saw Hollingworth's David Carson scoring his first goal of the season, giving the lads a one nil lead at half time. Second half saw a better performance by Haughton Rangers and Hollingworth were caught of guard allowing Rangers to score two goals in two minutes. Hollingworth searched for the equalizer, but to no prevail.

HJFC A v HR B Won 4-0: A great performance by the A team, scoring two goals in four minutes. Hollingworth goalkeeper had little to do in this game, as the defenders had no problems clearing up after every attack. The second half saw Elliot fletcher score a great solo goal. Sam Whiteman finished the game on a hat-trick.

HJFC B v HR A Draw 0-0: Improving all the time, this side held their own against a good Rangers A team. Solid defending by Jake Johnson saw the game 0-0 at half time. Second half saw both teams defenders play their best, an enthralling match to watch despite the nil nil draw.

Saturday 18th February 2006 HJFC v Haughton Rangers - Friendly

A Team Draw 0-0: A really good first half, with Hollingworth having goal chances time and time again. Goalless at half time, the lads came out fighting for the second half, hitting the inside of the post. With all the hard work put in by Hollingworth we deserved a win, unfortunately they did everything bar put the ball in the net!

B Team Win 2-0: A great performance by a full strength team. Ethan Marshall scoring with a powerful drive from the edge of the area. Hollingworth's goalkeeper, Reece Brind kept the first half 1-0 with some brilliant saves. Back on after half time and Ethan scored his second goal in the first five minutes. Haughton Ranger's had their chances to get back into the match, but good defending and goal keeping helped Hollingworth win the game.

HJFC A & B V HR A & B 5- 0 win:
A great start to the game. Sam Whiteman blasted the ball past Haughton's keeper for 1-0 up. Haughton Ranger's keeper kicked the ball to the halfway line, Ethan Marshall volleyed the ball straight back right over the keeper's head a magnificent goal, definitely goal of the season! In the second half Hollingworth played some great one touch football Ethan Marshall getting a second and Cameron Dickson and Jak Megram both scoring to secure a win.

HJFC V 3D Dynamo’s (Friendly) This should have been a good match, we’d already played them in the league, won one, drew one, so expectations were high expecting a close game. That was until 3D Dynamo’s turned up or should I say drove themselves, these were never the same 7/8 year olds’ we’d played previously unless they’d all fell asleep in a green-house since the last time we played.

A v A: After 5 mins or so Hollingworth were 2-0 down, which came as no surprise to anyone seeing as how we were playing 10 year olds. Nevertheless the 3-0 half time lead didn’t flatter 3D’s in anyway. A good team talk by the assistant and manager brought a good response; we had numerous chances to score but were not quick enough. The score game ended a 5-0 defeat.

B v B: A fantastic game, the lads were told go in hard but fair! Win the ball; if you lose it keep going no matter what the score is. Halftime HJFC was 3-1 up, two goals by Ethan Marshall and 1 by Jak Megrim. Second half brought much the same. HJFC going after every ball giving 3D’s no time. The game ended 4-1 to HJFC, Cameron Dickson scoring the fourth goal for HJFC. A mention regarding Logan Santiago, the smallest player on the team, but from small acorns’ comes solid oak tree’s and this is what this lad was for us a solid oak, he gave a superb performance stopping every attack. Well Done Logan!

Mi
xed AB V AB: HJFC started very well. Elliot Fletcher scored in the first few minutes, followed shortly by Eathon Marshall. 2-0 up at half time, the lads were up for it. Eathon Marshall scored a second at the start of the second half, things were looking good. 3D’s scored 2 quick goals in succession and with just seconds to go 3D scored again making the final score 3-3.

Saturday 24th March 2006
HJFC V Stalybridge

A v A:
Playing a big physical side, HJFC came under a lot of pressure and at half time we were 1-0 down. A good team talk by the assistant/manager who convinced the lads that the bigger you are the harder you fall! HJFC went in hard and fought for every ball. Adam Barton was having an excellent game at the back, Elliott Fletcher and Sam Whiteman coming top’s with nearly every tackle, it didn’t take long to upset Stalybridge, Jak Megram made a great pass to Ethan Marshall who then soared up the pitch passed it onto Elliott who easily scored the equaliser. With HJFC full of confidence the chances kept coming, unfortunately the Stalybridge goalkeeper kept the final score at 1-1.

B V B: This I must say will probably not happen again for a long time. A mini soccer game ending in a goalless draw. Both teams could of won this game if not for the skills of the defence and the goalkeeper’s. Nile Murray deflecting a hard drive by Stalybridge straight over the crossbar, Logan Santiago being a demon, tackling attacker after attacker. The Stalybridge goalkeeper saved two great shot’s with his feet one by Fergal Hanna the other from Cameron Dickson. A brilliant game regardless of the score-line.

HJFC v Haughton Rangers: This game got off to a great start, Elliott Fletcher scoring again for the third game running. Then Jak Megram scored a brilliant header from a corner-kick. A little lapse in concentration then followed and Haughton Rangers got a goal back. Score 2-1 at half time. Second half saw HJFC on the attack and Jack Kennedy had a long range shot which marginally went wide. Sam Whiteman had a shot saved by the legs of the keeper. Second’s later HJFC won a corner, which was taken by Sam Whiteman, and was met by a screamer of a volley by Jak Megram skimming the top of the bar. Game ended 2-1.

B V B: This proved to be an easy game for HJFC, with Fergal Hanna scoring the first goal in a matter of minutes. Cameron Dickson scored the second just before half time. There was little for Reece Brind (HJFC goalkeeper) to do, so we let him play out for the second half, replacing him with Logan Santiago who had nothing to do, as Matt Struttman and Jake Johnson defended what little attack’s there was.
