Training is on a Monday evening 7.00pm till 8.00pm at Longdendale Community Language College, Spring St, Hollingworth SK14 8LW College phone No 01457 764006. We are always on the look out for good, keen footballers to add to our squad.
Hollingworth 4 - 2 Clayton Villa Man of The Match James Dunne
A very wet and windy morning indeed. We had a good warm up but some of our players wished they had stayed in bed and the Parents. We only had one sub and with some players missing we new it would be hard, as Clayton had a good win last week. The away team took the early lead with a good goal. Clayton are a big powerful team and was winning most challenges.James in net was making some good saves and was focused on the game. Two of our players were very ill put carried on to the best of their ability. We managed to get one goal back Kieran at the back post slotting home. We went in at half 2 - 1 down, a good kick up the pants was needed to get a response and to get the team playing in the right positions, instead of being dragged all over the show. It was still tough going but our super star George Roberts entertained the fans with yet another Hattrick. the later stages of the game we got the ball down and played some good stuff.Clayton was not out done as they hit the woodwork twice but with some good defending and James pulling some great saves we hung on for the win. Man of the Match was James Dunne well done. A pat on the back for all the team and Golden boots George Roberts.
Hollingworth 1 - 4 Marple Athletic Man of The Match Ross Setterfield
We are our own enemy at times. Giving a goal away in the first 2 mins of the game and conceding 2 goals from goal kicks, same again basic errors. It was 3 - 0 at half time, but the second half was a massive improvement. The team battled right to the end and scored the best goal of the game with one touch football from George & Reade put Ross through to score a good goal. the main thing that we never gave up.
Hollingworth 1 - 6 AFC Oldham Man of the Match Ross Setterfield
A very diapointing performance, not the same team that had won their last 3 games. Basic errors cost us. With the odd player missing and players playing in different percisions, there was no natural balance. Oldham are a very good team and deserved their win. We had a ten minuite spell in the second half and played some good stuff. George put Ross in and he scored a good goal and with that he got man of the match well done
Hollingworth 3 - 1 Denton Youth Blues Man of the Match George Roberts
A great credit to both teams today. The football and the spirit of the game was fantastic. Hollingworth set off like last week, first to the ball and pressing hard. Some good moves but no end product. Dentons coach did his homework and played his fastest player right back to compensate Georges speed. This was a great battle all through the game.Ten minutes before half time Denton have their first shot on goal 1 - 0 to the away team ' Thats Football ' The fighting spirit of Hollingworth is amazing at the moment in one swift move down the left George scores with 20 seconds remaining 1 - 1 half time.Last week we conceded two early goals, not this time we put Andy centre half with his best mate Kalum stewart and they held the fort with Ben & Gaskie. Denton had their chances and James Dunne made a cracking save to keep Hollingworth on track. Georges class shown near the end as for once Jordan Dentons left back was out of position and George did actually broke the net for his second goal. His Hatrick came just before the end and was awarded Man of the Match well done. My Man of the Match was the whole Team - James,Ben,Gaskie,Kalum,Andy,Reade,Nathon,Tom,George,Kieran,Birchy,Alec & Ross Fantastic.
Hollingworth 5 - 3 Denton Youth Blues Man of the Match George Roberts
The firworks sparkled today as Hollingworth entertained Denton Youth. George Roberts was like a Rocket all the game down the left wing. The opening goal came from some good passing, with Reade putting Usain Bolt in down the left wing, george reached the 18 yard box and released a perfect strike in the bottom corner. George again beats the defender and crosses for Brandon to strike home. A pattern is forming here george again down the left with a strong cross and callum Birch neatly scores for his 1st of the season. 3 - 0 half time. The Second half started with a fired up Denton team, they worked so hard and put us under some pressure. Their rewards came as they pulled two quick goals back. Hollingworth was disjointed and i made a few changes which steadied the team.We sat back to much early second half but then played a high line. with it being 3 - 2 it was game on.A good pass from Ben releases George again down the left who manages to get between two players and scores his second.Hollingworth made it 5 with Callum Reade sneaking in at the back post. Fair play to Denton with 4 mins remaining they get a third by this time the game was over.
Hollingworth 5 - 2 AFC Stanley Man of the Match James Dunne
Callum Reade brought a smile to the home fans as he lashed the ball into the top corner to open the scoring for the Hollies. Callum has ben away in Florida for 5 weeks and has only played one match to date. A Pumped up Hollingworth team got to gribs with the game and played through Stanley's defence and goals from George Roberts 2 Kieran Burlinson 1 & Callum Birch made it 5 nil at half time. Second half belonged to AFC Stanley who dug in and got their rewards with 2 goals. Overall a very good performance and James Dunne our Goalkeeper was named Man of the Match well Done.
Hollingworth 1 - 5 Brendon Bees
A bad day at the office, 1 nil at half time and let 5 silly goals in, all avoidable. Kieran Burlinson scored our only goal. Hollingworth 13 - 3 Clayton Villa Man of the Match George Roberts A Fantastic performance from the Hollies as they entertained Clayton Villa in the early kick off, as both teams support Man City and needed to get to the match. Golden boots George roberts hits 5 wonder goals followed by hatricks from Kiearan Burlinson & Brandon Aitken, Tom and Ross got a goal a piece which finished a great performance from the team.
Hollingworth 3 - 5 Denton Youth Blues Man of the Match George Roberts
A below par performance from Hollingworth, who are normally a good football team. 3 nil at half time. We have to pick our selfs up just like the second half of the game today, a better performance from the team. We have no problems scoring just our defending needs to improve. A good header from Nathon and two goals from Ross kept us in the game. Man of the match was George Roberts. Hollingworth 4 - 8 Marple Athletic Man of the Match Alec Wright Back down to earth with a bump. A game of basic errors was the downfall of the game. But not taking anything away from Marple they were stronger in the tackle and wanted it more. As always George Scored and James made a great safe. Man of the match was Alec Wright who played his first game of the season and scored a great individual goal, cutting in from the right and slotting the ball home in the corner. Well done Alec. Hollingworth 5 - 2 Brendon Bees Man of the Match George Roberts Great start to the season for the lads. This was our first meeting against Brendon Bees as both teams are new to the Tameside league. Brendon Bees are a very good outfit and played some great football. Hollingworth have two great goalscorers in the team and this was the difference. Brandon opened the Scoring with a good first strike. George Roberts with his gifted left foot added another two before half time 3 - 0. The first 5 mins of the second half saw Brendon Bees score two quick goals and shocked Hollingworth. The Bees tales were up and put us under some pressure, but George Roberts took the sting out of their tales by scoring two more goals to make it 5 - 2. A very good team performance. |
